POLYASPARTIC DECORATIVE CHIP COATING SYSTEM

A POLAYASPARTIC decorative chip coating system is one of the most popular concrete coating options. Our clients enjoy this system because it only takes a few hours to install. Decorate chip coatings are applied in a two-layer process. The first layer incorporates the polyaspartic primer /base coating with a full broadcast of 1/4" decorative chips. The top coat is a clear coat of polyaspartic coating with an anti-slip / slip resistant additive to finalize the seal and durability, as well as improve traction.

What Are the Benefits of the Decorative Chip System?

PLEXICOAT PLX 008 Cleaning and Maintenance Guide

Sweep Regularly:

  • Sweep the floor either with a soft bristle broom or microfiber dust mop regularly. By removing dust and loose debris, you’ll keep the floor free of scratches and reduce wear and tear.

Spot Cleaning:

  • For small spills or vehicle drippings on your coating, simply wipe them with a paper towel or soft cloth. It is recommended to wipe any liquid off as soon as possible. Some stains, like rust, may require some elbow grease and hot water.

Heavy Cleaning:

  • For heavy cleaning of a soiled polyaspartic floor, sweep away any loose debris, then mop floor using a foam or microfiber mop, with hot water and clear ammonia. 4-5 ounces of clear ammonia per gallon of water is all that is needed to remove soiling. Rinse frequently.
  • Alternatively, you can use your hose with a pressure nozzle to spray the floor and a floor squeegee to move the dirty water off of the garage floor and on to the driveway.

Prevention:

  • Protecting your floors is more than just cleaning—you need to safeguard them as well. Although our floor coating system is highly durable, it is not indestructible.
  • Always avoid dragging or sliding heavy equipment or pallets across the floor.
  • Avoid using abrasive/acidic cleaners and stiff bristle brushes as they can potentially damage your coating.
  • Avoid using soap based cleaners as they may cause your coating to lose its shine and make for a much more slippery surface especially when wet.
